THE ORGANON SENIOR RESEARCH PRESENTATION

The Organon awards, made possible by the Organon company, were established in 1978 to recognise excellence in research in Psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand. The annual Organon Senior Research Award is made to the Fellow who has made the most significant contribution to Psychiatric research in Australia and New Zealand over the preceding five years. The winner of the Organon Senior Research Award will receive A$15,000 and is invited to present a plenary session at the Congress.

THE MARGARET TOBIN AWARD

The Margaret Tobin Award recognises the RANZCP Fellow who has made the most significant contribution to administrative Psychiatry in Australia and New Zealand. It honours the memory of Dr Margaret Tobin, the head of South Australia's Mental Health Services who died in 2002. The winner receives a plaque and a book token and is invited to deliver the Margaret Tobin Oration at the RANZCP's annual Congress.

TRAINEE RESEARCH AWARD AT CONGRESS

Trainees are encouraged to submit abstracts to present at the RANZCP Congress in May 2008 in order to be considered for the Trainee Research Award at Congress.

The Award recognises a RANZCP trainee who has contributed and presented the most significant paper during the Congress proceedings. The Award comprises a citation plus a sum of up to the order of $1,000.
